Universal Genetics / Advanced Genetics is a company primarily focused on U.S. Immigration DNA Testing that has been in operation for over 15 years and is composed of three, fully independent and functional laboratories with multiple accreditations that operate in three different states (California, New York, Florida). Our team includes some of the nations’ most reputable and experienced DNA scientists.
All of our laboratories are full service AABB-Accredited facilities. We are not collection sites; we are three laboratories in a systematic collaborative network. In fact, when you visit any of our laboratories, you can be confident that your case is being entirely handled by one company. The laboratories are located in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami, and we work with an extensive network of DNA collection sites throughout the entire United States and different countries around the world.
We are the only AABB-Accredited DNA Testing Laboratories directed by a Medical Doctor. Our state-of-art DNA testing facilities have the most advanced equipment, certified clean rooms and the latest robotic technology.
With Universal Genetics, you can expect professional and friendly service delivered by our DNA test experts.
ACCREDITATIONS

AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) .- The AABB Accreditation is the highest standard for DNA relationship testing laboratories. AABB accreditation establishes procedures and requires laboratories to provide rigorous standards of testing quality and care for patients in all phases of parentage testing. Most government agencies and courts require DNA tests to be performed by an AABB-Accredited laboratory. Universal Genetics / Advanced Genetics started receiving AABB accreditation in 2007 and has achieved perfect ratings (zero deficiencies) in inspections by the AABB in all 3 laboratory locations.

CAP (College of American Pathologists) Proficiency Testing Program .- The AABB and NHSDOH requires laboratories to participate in its Proficiency Testing Program, in which CAP sends blind samples to the laboratories for DNA testing and evaluates the laboratories results for proficiency. Universal Genetics / Advanced Genetics participates in this program and has passed all proficiency testing since its inception.

NYSDOH (New York State Department of Health) . - The NYSDOH certification allows laboratories to perform DNA tests on residents of New York state. The NYSDOH inspects the entire testing service, including processes performed outside the laboratory, such as chain of custody and patient referrals. Universal Genetics / Advanced Genetics is one of a few AABB-Accredited laboratories that has the prestigious NYSDOH certification, participates in this program and has passed all proficiency testing since its inception.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regulates all laboratory testing (except research) performed on humans in the U.S. through the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). In total, CLIA covers approximately 260,000 laboratory entities. The Division of Clinical Laboratory Improvement & Quality, within the Quality, Safety & Oversight Group, under the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) has the responsibility for implementing the CLIA Program. The objective of the CLIA program is to ensure quality laboratory testing.
